AREA OF OPERATION

NOTS started its activities in the remote rural areas of Kanpur Nagar & Kanpur Dehat District of UP with its Women's economic empowerment for Sustainable livelihoods development project. The first one year was fully concentrated on awareness raising and community mobilization activities including provision of Microfinance and Microenterprise. In the one, NOTS emerged as one of the leading organizations in the field of women economic empowerment of the target communities through women 'self-help groups' Women activity group formation and capacity building training.

Right since its inception NOTS has focused on livelihoods for the rural house hold' and 'Technology induction for development’ as its core thrust area. The target group focus of the organization is on the poorest communities and households. The organization is focusing its activities particularly for unorganized population of the state to improve their quality of life by providing livelihood option, capacity building training, vocational training and life skill education. NOTS working at present in three district of Uttar Pradesh geographically is Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat and Unnao and provides services to 57 backward villages in District of Uttar Pradesh as well as slums of cities.
